I'm making more basic mistakes than my dissertation on these forums at the minute.

Yeah, the mx510 and 518 had the forward and back buttons, as does the IME 3.0. I find them slightly irritating, especially when filling in forms like these.
 
i love my gray g5,ive had it since 2005 and have no plans of buying another as i think the g5 is still the best;)
 
I replaced my old worn out MX 518 with a G5 which I returned after a couple of days as I was not impressed by the tracking. I changed it for a Razer Deathadder which was fine and very comfortable. I have just bought another MX 518 as I was fed up with trying to configere buttons with the Razer.

Save your money and get a MX 518 as it does everything the G5 does and according to many has better tracking.
 
Got the mouse today, and yeah its better then the mx1000 cos it glides much more freely and I can aim better in FPS games, The only prob is the cord is a bit annoying, but I guess I will get use to that over time.

Im not using the software and all buttons work fine, even the dpi buttons. Im using 4 weights, cos Im not use to the mouse being so light after comming from the mx1000.
