Hey

I came across this deal on a website this morning - have been deliberating over it all day whether or not to do it - but have decided to go for it.

It is one of them cash back deals. Its on Vodafone - 500mins Xnet, 250texts. Free Sony Ericsson K810i. Its a 12 month contract - and you can claim 280quid back through 5 claim forms. So in essence it all costs 140quid.

Check it out - its the top one labeled "super deal". It doesnt mention anything about a 12 month contract - but I called them after I ordered and checked it was and it is :)

So Yeah - it seems a good deal. I guess the only things that could **** it up would be a) if the company goes bust, bye bye cash back claims and b)missing a claim means you dont get the cash back.

I can avoid b) by writing on calendar and making sure I send my claims in.

What do you guys think?

Well once I have it - I will call Vodafone and double check. This is the first time I have used a 3rd Party. They must know that if its actually a 18month contract and I wanted a 12 month that I am just going to cancel the contract.

Just a quickie - when I get my handset - other then the cashback claims - everything else will be delt with through Vodafone right? So If I have a problem with making calls I call Vodafone CS?

Are there any instances that I would have to contact PhoneboxDirect?

Chances are you'll have to ring the 3rd party company more than vodafone.

If its a generic handset then it'll be covered by the 3rd party company and not vodafone, any handset faults though go through the vodafone first to try and resolve, if nothing works then the 3rd party company will have to deal with it.
Dependant on the contract, any changes will have to be made to the 3rd party company also regarding tariff change since your getting cashback.
Things like bundles/roaming/minutes remaining etc goto vodafone.

Are you getting insurance? Is it with the 3rd party dealer or Vodafone? That's a good way of seeing whos the handset from, if it's from vodafone then it'll probably have a vodafone label on it anyways.
