A mate came round and had ago at overclocking my pc and managed to overclock my 3700 sandiego to a 2.5 and christ was the performance different. It gave 3dmark05 a 1000 extra points :)

Next time when he comes around hes gonna push it a bit more to about 2.6, can it be done. Its currently 50c underload so mim not sure if it should go any higher.

Its at stock volts which i assume is a good thing. Im really happy with the cpu overclocked but for some reason my mate couldnt do my ram it kept crashing when i got onto windows.
But it dont bother me im just happy overclocking my cpu which my little helper told me has still got some more potential. So i was thinking of getting a really good cooler, but what would you recommend, ill also buy that arctic silver paste which i hear wonders about.

So if i got the best cooler along with the best paste what do you wreckon i can get too 2.7-2.8 thats like fx55 speeds :)

After doing a little research i think ive found what would be a good cooler setup:

HS-023-TR ThermalRight SI-120 Heatsink
£26.95 £26.95
FG-024-AK Akasa AK-183-L2B Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin
£8.95 £8.95
AC-000-AC Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound £5.50 £5.50
Subtotal £41.40
Shipping £8.00
VAT £8.65
Total £58.05

Is that a good choice i definetly know i picked a good fan cause i already got 2 in my akasa 62 case cooloing my system. There being controlled by my akasa fan controller so ill do the same with the other fan as well.

Go for the Thermaltake Big Typhoon 4 in 1 Heatpipe (Socket 939/754/775/478) CPU Cooler over the SI-120, its meant to be excellent and comes with a good fan so will save you a few bob :)

I like the look of that i think ill get that instead with some paste.
With that thing could i get up to 2.8-3.0Ghz. Ive just checked my temps my pc has been on for about 4 hours and its 39-41c so with the typhoon how much do you wreckon itll knock off the temp 5-10c
