Probably a pointless post, but I'm feeling pretty good.

First time ever really on a bike, took 2 lessons and I was able to do the CBT.
My arse is numb though. 4 hours on the road is too long :|

Yeah, it feels absolutely fantastic. Rode to work today for the first time under my own steam.
Still a little shaky on the roads, but the more I ride, the more confident I'll feel.

I was using the instructors bike which isn't overly comfy. (Yamaha YBR), but my seat is awfully padded and comfortable :D (Lexmoto Lowride :D)

Are you joking? :O My YBR was the comfiest bike I've ridden!

I can't speak for all YBR's, but that one was stiff as a board.

Gears can be a little tricky, thankfully my instructer was pretty good. I feel very comfortable shifting up and down gears now. Basically, he said if you're doing 10+ you should be in second. 20+ In 3rd and so on..

It's roundabouts that scare me :p

I'm all set for a mini rideout this summer. Some of the guys from work, and myself are gonig to cruise down to Fermanagh soak up the local scenery :D

well done, what I did after I passed was go out when the roads were quiet an practised my emergancy stops and U turns, after a while it was second nature.

one question though, you did lessons before your cbt? that was a waste of money as the cbt teaches you to ride.

Yeah, it was 2 lessons before the CBT on-road part. Basically, I did CBT class room, then my 2 lessons. Then the on road part.
My instructor was quite strict, but rather good. I feel the extra lessons were much better for me. Had I went on the road without them, I probably wouldn't have got the CBT cert signed :p

I've been driving to and fro work- gonig early and leaving late. Hoping that by the ned of the month I'll feel much better about it.

We don't actually have DAS over here in N.I. It's quite backwards in a lot of things. Legislation is changing again next year, so it'll be even more of a mess.
Basically, by the end of the summer I'm planning to get my full licence sorted- to get rid of the 'L' plates at least. Probably won't get a bigger bike until I've finish paying off this one, and have the money to splurge. :p
