As title, ever since getting the iphone iv been looking into macs, managed to get a mac mini 1.25ghz G4 with 256mb ram, thinking of upgrading to 1gb ram, and then wacking on leapord, will leapord work ok on these ? as its not intel, what limits do I have with it being G4 ?

AFAIK all Leopard retail disks contain both Universal Binaries and PowerPC versions of OS X.

I would seriously get more RAM before upgrading the Leopard, ideally the more RAM the better.. it's going to be slug-slow on 256MB

Will do, max is 1gb in it though, is that enough for normal day to day tasks ? I want to use this machine as a 'stable' machine, as in use it for itunes, ical and to sync my iphone, my pc is formatted so much it gets annoying to keep making playlists for my tunes..........so hopefully OS-X is able to keep on doing the above for years, 1gb enough yeh ?

If the usage is as low as you mention then, yes.

I'd be compelled to suggest Tiger, but it should be fine on Leopard :)

Should be fine if you aren't doing anything heavy.

1gb should be fine for Leopard, my machine has 1.5GB and runs easy enough.

I would keep Tiger on there untill you get used to OS X before paying for leopard, For your use you will not get much more out of it.

Its got 10.4 with it, which is tiger aint it ? not got it running yet, why suggest tiger? is it VERY similar to leopard

Yes, Mac OS 10.4.x is codenamed Tiger

It is almost identical to Leopard, so it's perfect for getting to know your way around.

Yeah forget Leopard. It's alright but for what you're using it for theres no way I could recommend dropping money on 10.5 for a few added features you'll never probably use.
