Where did you get these ideas from?

as mentioned by Gibbo above, the dual xfire setup is producing fine results.

however, I can't speak for the other poster but in my case I have one of these boards in another system (non-crossfire) and am only stating a fact.

Although there are two PCIe graphics slots, only one is x16, the other running at x4. This is the standard configuration with the P35,

Currently, there's no driver support for AMD's multi-GPU CrossFire support on the P35, and to its credit Abit doesn't certify the board for CrossFire, anyway.

;)

There is driver support, otherwise it wouldn't actually enable the Crossfire tab in CCC.

There are no specific "crossfire drivers", just standard ATi catalysts, which, if two cards are installed in a crossfire compatible motherboard (regardless of speeds of the PCIe lanes), then crossfire becomes avaiable for activation.

There are no stipulations that Crossfire requires certain PCIe speeds, nor are their stipulations that state Crossfire isn't supported if the two PCIe ports are running in different configs, infact most early Crossfire boards didn't have two x16 (logical) slots.

Crossfire X is a different technology altogether, and requires a secondary PCIe controller in order to gain enough lanes on one motherboard to allow operation of more than two cards in LDA (linked display adapter) format.

Go do some reading before stepping in with your size 9's.

But you said because its a x4 it wont support crossfire

Lol, this could have all been settled by a quick Google search. Oh well, now we know about the xfire issue, good really as my brand new DS4 has just arrived and i will be giving xfire 3870s a go in it methinks.

Correct, the OP could have done that, I know little on Crossfire, common sence was to visit the store section and look at the info but its lacking.

Anyhow Gibbo gave lots of info, thread closed IMO.

I just seen no replies and dont like to see someone stuck.

The thread was ruined after the big mouth above told us we were stupid.

Hmmm, and whose posts have been deleted? Mine or yours? Considering I RTM'd my own post, its odd how my posts remain.

I answered what needed to be answered, gave FACTS not fallacies, and offered advice to the OP that was relevant to the questions asked.
