Any ideas on estimated PPD? at say 4/4.2ghz on stock cooler. have cool surrounding so temp "should" be ok.

Edit: Cant afford an aftermarket cooler for now. Need to recover the bank balance

There are others more able to answer that but at a guess if you were using the cpu to do bigadv then i would have thought 25,000 per day plus a bonus after you have done 10 smp someone will put my guestimate in line but around that mark i think

Well i have to up my efforts on seti have been well slacking of late so 2 x gtx 480 watercooled should help i dont care about the power consumption they'll be under water just trying to find something for a second setup now ...... must have powwaahhhhh!!

Are you going for an auto setting till your used to it or are you going straight in for the kill and fold right away sah?

My plan is as follows:

Install W7, all updates/drivers > Overclock to as much as a safe level as i can regarding temps> Install FAH SMP Client and FOLD ON!!!

Oh and set up my PS3 Media Server.

You should be 100% stable to go 4.4 on auto 4.5 and up might require a tiny nudge on the volts but wey heyyyy nice one indeed

If you're anywhere near Devizes in the next couple of weeks I'll sort you out with a better cooler for a sensible price. I have a few I'm not using.....

Oh, I bought a GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 rather than the UD2H-B3 yesterday as I didn't want the forward-facing SATA ports (and it was cheaper). A bit of a struggle to get into the Sugo case but it came straight up with the i3 2120 and a big passive cooler so I now have to decide what HDDs to put in it and load some OS's.
