Just received a strange call...

I had one of these calls while I was in the middle of reformatting my PC I laughed at them told them to stick their call and hung up they phoned back threatening to have me arrested for swearing at them even though expletives were never exchanged, I told them good luck with that because a I didn't swear & b so far as I know swearing at someone down the phone is not a criminal offence and proceeded to tell them I was phoning the police myself to report them for harrasing me... they hung up!
It's an unsolicited call, you have every right to tell them what you want.

i cannot wait to get this call! rick rolled , debbie does dallas the whole lots getting played!! may even ask him to wait awhile my spectrum 128k loads a game! :p

"Ahh so you're from apple?"
"Yes sir"
"Macs don't get viruses, now, would you like my bank details or my identity?"

Trouble is, some people are daft enough that it'll work on them.

I don't use Macs, so know little about them. But from what I know about Virii, they can be programmed to circumvent almost any system.

The following article also states that Apple Macs are not immune to Virii.

I spoke to someone else who had exactly this call the other day...

very targeted malware .. (I guess they harvested the contact details from the pc)

Very unlikely, more likely is they bought a load of contact detalis from another company. All they need is a name and phone number, then just blag it as almost everyone has a computer and hope some take the bait.

He'd probably just have lol'd. Do people still honestly believe Macs aren't vulnerable?

Shhh! Don't say that, Mac users get grumpy about it.:(

tell them u'll do it later and ask to be transferred to the billing department if they claim to be from ISP etc.

THat will get them.
