I have never had an account with these so I am thinking WTF :eek:
Anybodybody know about these things? There is a bankofamerica.com

Ignore / delete it.

I often get these things in my junkmail including a similar one from paypal even though I have no paypal account.

There was a post on this only yesterday. These are 'phishing' emails designed to con you into providing scammers with your details so they can attempt to empty your bank account.

Have you honestly never heard of this before?

Oh yes! It's the cheek by golly!

Wow, I'd go enter the details as quickly as possible so that your bank accounts aren't suspended.

I work in the cancellation/disconnection department so should be able to help you out. Bank Of America is also linked with Natwest and Halifax so it'll be referring to these if you have either of them - make sure to add a webnote saying which bank the details are for.

If you have any problems, send me an e-mail with your details and I'll get it sorted for you. A scanned copy of your passport will be needed for identification purposes as well - e-mail addy in trust.

I don't have any of the bank accounts listed (Natwest and Halifax)-so to try and con me into providing details for a non-existent account is quite bizzare.

...it's not really linked with Halifax and Natwest and I don't really work in the cancellation/disconnection department.

Thanks for ALERTING THE INTERNET. I often come to OcUK to be kept up to date with *every* phishing email thats ever been sent ;) :D

I hope you're joking. If not why bother making a thread about such an obvious scam.

Oh quicklys!!! better sort out my Bank of America account before I lose all my monies from it!

That's not how it works.. the emails are just sent indiscriminately to millions of people, so they're bound to get someone. They don't have a list of which bank accounts you have...

Quick, transfer it all to my account in the Bank of Nigeria :D But don't be so obvious about it. No, be obvious about it because nobody cares in Nigeria

I wasn't sure how it worked and I assumed Ihad been singled out etc. The entirety of it all is really sad when you think of people new to computing or pensioners-well in fact, anybody.

Yea, the e-mail is the same phishing scam that has been e-mailed to people and posted on here. Some company, probably one you never heard of or used before is telling you that unless you provide them will all of your personal data that you account will be locked.

If you fall for it, or even have a small inclination that it might be real, than you deserve all you get
