Ooh, it's nice.

I got the black 4GB (not from OcUK). It's really tiny, feels solid (metal) AND acts like a removeable drive. Charges off the USB too, so you can charge it when you travelling! (Essential for me - I travel to Europe a lot for work). 35 hours (spec) battery life too.

About to load it up with a bunch of CDs I ordered too.

This is going to be my ultra-portable music system and I'll try and have it with me at all times. I bought some MX500s to go with it - not even going to bother with the supplied ones.

My 'main' portable music system is a 40GB Creative Zen Xtra, headphone amp and Sennheiser HD25sp's. It has ALL my music on it and sounds *great*, but 14 hours battery life can be limiting on long journeys and it's no longer pocketable with the headphone amp.

Review here:

The review isn't right when it says the player is 'stuck' in MTP (Media Transport Protocol). I've forced mine to act like a standard USB drive.

Go and get one! :D

OK, so the connection seems a bit dodgy when set to standard USB mode.

If you have WMP10 installed, the player will connect in 'MTP' mode, which seems a lot more stable.

A little diappointing, but MTP mode seems near-identical to USB mode, so not too bad.

Anyone else got one of these players yet?

Hi,

I'm still waiting for the YP-Z5F to be released here (just been released in Korea so hopefully won't be too long).

How are you finding the control system? Most of the reviews I read said it was a great device but the control system may take a little getting used to.

What's the Z5F?

I find the control system OK, but yes, it takes a little getting used to. I still find the iPod has the best user interface and controls, but doesn't offer the features I need.

I'm only transferring files to my Z5 using the MTP mode now - works flawlessly.
