I have just received two of these

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-108-HT&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=939

And I'm not entirely happy so would appreciate some advice.

(i) They don't come in a box as shown in the picture

(ii) They don't come with any cables, crossfire adaptor - nothing

(iii) The heating\Fan is nothing like the picture it is more like this

This is my bigest concern because there is no cooling for the RAM - which is a criticism levelled against the ASUS linked above.

What do you think?

Cheers,

Nigel

They are listed as OEM, OEM stuff is pretty much always bare card.

As for the crossfire adaptor, if you contact OCUK they might send you one out, people have done this in the past.

Okay as OEM, I'm not too bothered about cables.

Driver I can get from the Ati website.

No manual or documentation at all - how does warranty work then?

My biggest concern is the heatsink.

They are listed as OEM, OEM stuff is pretty much always bare card.

It would help if the picture just showed that - in particular showed the card you would get, not a different one.

*not intending to sound like mod but hard not to*

If you have customer service issues, either call OCUK, or post in the customer service section, it exists for a reason.

Posting here will not get your questions answered the way you want.

But the question I'm asking is about the heatsink\fan.

I was seeking technical advice, not consumer advice.

Is the fan that is fitted a step down or a step up from what is pictured.

If the consensus is that actually, the fan you have got is actually better than pictured then I won't be concerned.

I can live without boxes, paper, cables etc.

Cheers,

Nigel

Well, for starters one vents the heat out of the back of your case, and one doesn't. If you have an already warm case and/or a case with minimal cooling, it is something to at least consider.

This looks like the one that has been supplied

Looking at their product range, this looks to be their bottom of the range product and all their others have the fan\heatsink as shown on the Overclockers website.

Yes that was one of the good features I noted - ventilation is great for either of the PCs they are going it because they are tucked away neatly so don't have a much open space around them.

Cheers,

Nigel
