So as the title says I've reinstalled the game but when I try to launch it all I get is a black screen ( do they matter? ), anyone know how to fix this?

I never bought the game through steam, I've just installed it from the rockstar social club.

It turns out it was my gamepad that was causing the issue, unplug it and the game loads up fine? Never had the problem with the game previously though.
