I just reinstalled windows and according to CPUID Hardware Monitor my CPU Voltage is currently running at 0.94 V, Is this dangerous, I haven't had any crashes yet, but want to be sure.

I did change the setting in Bios so it would run at about 1.30 V.

im looking at CPUID right now and my cpu voltage seems to change when the cpu is put under any load , right now its saying 0.960 V...but when i just ran ccleaner it went up to 1.392 V , ive never noticed that before though ?

Yeah that sounds like speedstep reducing the voltage when the processor is not under stress. This is normal, but you can disable it in bios if you like.

I have a Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H, Athlon ii X4 640 and 4GB Ram.

I guess it was Easy Saver doing this, but it's never happened before, I was using Windows XP before and now using Windows 7.

Yeah, offset voltage will reduce voltage with load/frequency. Spiking can happen if you use high levels of LLC with cheap motherboards (that can't adjust quickly enough when they are taken off load). Not really a good thing to be happening.

I set the voltages to auto, but the max in Hardware Monitor is saying 2.29v and that happened overnight while my pc was idling also the max temp is about 17 degrees above the average idle.

Is there anything I can turn off in Bios to stop this happening?

Mobo is Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H.
