Just Reinstalled

Just reinstalled due to problems with steam and my graphics.

Is it best to do all the microsoft updates first then install the graphics drivers or install graphics drivers first?

The updater will probably download your drivers for you anyway, if you have vista.

Ive got XP and a release of the ATI drivers i need just dont know which to install first, microsoft updates or graphics drivers, as i really dont want this problem to occur again.

i always install my chipset drivers first. then gpu, then sound. only then do i update windows.

Yeah start with the mobo drivers first, then the drivers for anything that plugs into the mobo, then peripherals.

You will need to do M$ updates a few times, its not possible to get everything the first time.

How do i change a drive letter?

I go to manage then local drives and change letter but i want to use the letter G for one of my secondary drives but the letter doesnt appear from the drop down menu?

is it already in use? you'll need to free it up first by assigning another letter to the drive using it.

No it isnt at the moment.

Could it have been left there from a USB pen or somehting ive used?
