Just saved £430 on my car insurance...

Ok, my car insurance is just up for renewal and I have been trawling the web for ages before I came across confused.com. I know the adverts suck but I thought I'd give it ago... and it's saved me a packet now having NCB and all!

Gone from £900 to £450 and upgraded my cover from TP to TPFT... I am well chuffed.

Just thought I'd share! :D
 
Confused.com is very good.

Quotes on there for me ranged from £700 to £2,500.

They might not be completely accurate, but it gives a good indication of where to go.

Nothing special, just an S60 T5, but I have 0 NCB and live in South London.

As has been mentioned, their quotes are higher than going direct, but they give you an indication of which insurers will be more sympathetic.
 
I tend to use confused.com to get me the top 5 or so, then go to them directly. Although its usually only about 4 quid more through confused!
 
Heh random, I find confused absolutely useless! :p

Just run a quote on my car for next year and the cheapest price is £1200, I paid £850 this year with one years less no claims! :p

Seems strange that direct line have "opt'd out" in quoting me considering they insured me in my first years with 0 no claims. Elephant and tesco who were also cheap for me opt'd out :o

Useless for me :(
 
Nice work mate, saving money on insurance is always fun.

I thought I would try their site just now for a laugh. Best quote they could give me was just over £1K on a policy that I'm currently paying £555 for. And that's with 1 years NCB less as well! My current insurers refused to quote apparently.

Now I'm currently with Admiral, and my renewal cost is £750. I've had a quote for £650 from Elephant.

Two companies that according to Confused.com, won't insure me!

And the cheapest that it's got is over £400 more than my cheapest quote!


Pretty damn useless tbh!
 
It's wierd because tesco quoted me £742.35 for TPFT... which is the same :confused:

I don't quite understand why the quotes can vary so much if they are all offering (theoretically) the same!

By the way my car is a 98 Mk 4 1.7TD Astra
