Not sure about changing yet, but wanted to check a few things.
Currently my z97 G1 allows running primary card at 16X, with secondary card at 8x, with the 960 doing physx duties at 8x (Due to PLX chip of course).
Now, I do keep eyeing up the 5820k, but am unsure of a few things.
I know the best I am going to get for my current cards is 8x/8x/8x.
But is that still going to be board dependent? As in, will some boards only allow me to run one of those at 4x?
Would that hinder the 960 on physx? I am guessing no...
Even if I dropped to just using the two 980Ti's, I know I will still be limited to 16x/8x, but what if I use m2 SSD's? Will it not affect things, as in that speed I can run cards, etc?
Am sure I heard M2 on Gigabyte boards is a bit rubbish as running on PCIE 2 - is that correct?
Also, will there ever be SATA Express drives?
