I'm considering some professional instruction on a skid pan or whatever those lessons are called. On a positive note, took my car down to my local garage who gave it a check over, all i needed was a new tyre. £41 including balance and im back on the road. Lesson learnt.
I had a bit of scare earlier. Pulled out of a junction a bit quick and had the back end squirming. Got it back in line though, but I don't think the person behind me was too impressed.
The roads are getting slippy now, so I'm just going to take it easy from now on.
forget skid pans mate.
waste of time IMHO.
book some track instruction at a time of year when you're fairly sure to have crappy weather (ie now ).
the instructors will show you how to drive quickly according to the conditions, just remember that you're NOT learning how to go as quickly as possible while on the road.
as a sidenote i firmly believe there should be more motorsport facilities dotted around the country.
I'm oop north and I dont think we've even had a frost, yet OCUK members are crashing left right and center. The roads arent bad yet - I manage to get to work on my bike daily without drama and have had a few 100mile + jouneys the last couple of weeks, again, not so much as a wheel spin, slide or near miss.
Sad to hear , damn dude, least your OK. I went round a fairly big roundabout once at 35ish (icey roads) I started sliding round it lol, eventually the car electronics kicked in and straightened me up. Scary and funny..though if there was a car about
