I think there maybe a problem with the CPU folding? if someone could take a look and help be appreciated.

Started the GPU and the CPU at the same time.

Thanks :)

Nope looks normal,

A 2684 can take between 35 and 50 minutes per frame depending on your hardware. Thats a bigadv work unit. (WU)

Quick questions:

It looks like the bigadv isn't getting any bonus applied to it. Did you setup a passkey for your Folding account?

You need a passkey and have folded at least 10 succesful regular (-advmethod) WU's before you can get the bonus for bigadv WU's

Yeh i put a passkey i followed this http://fahtracker.com/setup.html from the overclockers thread.

A 2684 can take between 35 and 50 minutes per frame depending on your hardware.

Intel I7 950 @4ghz with hyperthreading on. Any ideas guessing how long?

and have folded at least 10 succesful regular (-advmethod) WU's before you can get the bonus for bigadv WU's

I only just lauched it havent folded anything before and they are the first WU they give me. Any sugestions on what to do?

Well you have two options, you can stop, uninstall and make sure it removes all trace of the current WU, then reinstall but when configuring use the -advmethods flag but without the -bigadv flag and wait till you have crunched 10 WU's (probably about 3 days depending on your CPU speed) those 10 WU's will net you about 4-16K points per day (PPD) depending on your hardware and what WU you get

Or you can stop the client now, change the config to use -oneunit flag then start it again, it will crunch the bigadv WU (About 2,3 days) and you will get the non-bonus points its showing at the end (9K) of that time. Then when its finished, remove the bigadv flag and change it to advmethods and crunch your 10 standard WU's

Hope this helps.

-oneunit flag is "Oneunit mode" in Tracker Settings tab on that app.

Does that look better?

6061 is a regular A3 advmethods WU so thats perfect. It won't start to calculate the PPD until its done a few frames :)

Just wait till you've done 10 of them then you can switch the -advmethods flag off and the -bigadv one on.

What hardware are you running? Is it this?

Yeh it is, except my gtx 460 is broke atm so i threw my old ati 5770 in so i could use the thing.
Ment to be getting my 460 back tomorow.

Gpu is on 9% now and the SMP still on 0% is that about right? or should it have atleast done 1% by now.. As you can see i have no idea how long these are ment to take.

They should take 3-4 minutes per frame on that cpu. BUT.. and its a big BUTT :) the ATI will be literally eating into the CPUs performance because at stock its PANTS at folding.

You can improve it but you are probably going to get better performance just folding on the CPU at this point till you get the NVidia back

Thats task manager 11 seems to be the GPU

Stopped the gpu and checked again

What does a Frame mean?

Edit: its on 2% now at 13:47
Going a lot faster after dissabling GPU

100x better looking at that and i dunno what half of it even means :P all i know i like big green numbers.

When i get the nvidia back will both run better then?

A frame is 1% basically, should be a fair bit quicker than that though. my Phenom II gives quicker frame times on that work unit, the 5770 isnt really worth folding on due to the low points they give and number of cpu cycles they use slowing your SMP client down. There is a couple of tweaks that reduce cpu usage of the GPU client that Biffa should be able to point you to though.

16K PPD is much better :) Nice one.

Well even the Nvidia will knock a bit off the output of the CPU, maybe 10% depending on the WU being crunched.

CPU wise, after you have done 10 you can decide whether to be happy with a reliable 16K PPD figure, and maybe 25-26K if you add the GTX460 to the mix, or if you want to move onto the longer running but potentially more lucrative -bigadv WU's which can return 25-30K on their own, plus with the GTX460 maybe another 11-12K so 37-40K PPD minimum.

You can see how addictive this can get :)

Yes i can :P the number keeps going up slightly (guessing that would be to do with averages and it starting out very slowly so now its going faster its starting to get the actual score)

Hmm i dunno it depends im just going to run it when it has nothing else to do and looking on the internet the -bigadv takes ages and you would have to run them constantly to try and meet the dead line. So i might stay on the "normal" ones for a bit and see how it goes.

Yes they can take ages and if your overclock isn't 100% stable they can crash your PC at any time and take the WU with it, even if its 98% done, so then instead of gettin 30+K PPD you get zilch. At least with the A3 standard SMP WU's you get a pretty steady output.

Having said that, I run 3 bigadv rigs so I can't talk. :)

3? Is there a thread with your pc's on? would be interested to look :P

Update on it on 15% and pulling 17,500 PPD. Realtemps showing cores holding at 70 deg Guessing thats not bad running at 4ghz

I have to admit i looked at it and died a little. I WANT ONE! off to get a lottery ticket maybe if i win ill get 10 just to go HA and then join OCUK folding with them ofc :P Hmm that would be a lot of points 10 of them :|
