Hello all,

Last week I was forced to buy DayZ, but for some odd reason I really enjoy it when I seriously thought I wouldn't. Now I want to try out more games like it so I've been looking at "Rust" or "7 days to die" both are about the same price but what one is better?

You bought it a week ago, found you really like, but yet you're seeking to try similar games already?

Am I a rarity for finding a game I like and sticking with it for a year or two?

I've got Rust and 7 Days to Die.

Rust is fun if you have some friends to play with, and have time to regularly go on and 'maintain' your buildings (as they decay, and it gets tiring having to start as a fresh spawn all the time).

7DTD is fun to play on your own (there were some multiplayer issues but they may have been fixed now). Especially if you like making a fortress and going looting. Although this one is quite expensive for an Early Access game (compared to Rust).

As said above, State of Decay is another Zombie Survival game. It has an actual story for you to follow and it is very Walking Dead-esque (having to manage survivors getting depressed or angry at each other).

Yea, Dont get me wrong I'm still going to play Dayz, but I just want to try other titles within the genre. Base building sounds fun in 7days to die and Rust.

I bought State of Decay and itis fun but it is not really the same sort of game as DayZ. State of Decay is more like Left for Dead and GTA combined. You get some other interaction with other NPCs, some of which you can control if you build a good enough relationship with them, a bit of base modification and stronghold building and it is fun but is more of a cartoon style than ultra realistic which is what DayZ is trying to hit. There is also no multiplayer unfortunately.

I am looking at Epoch at the moment for the DayZ mod. Still trying to get DayZ Commander to download it on my PC...

I have a slightly off-topic question.

I'm going away for a week and I'll have access only to a notebook - SB i5 at 2.4 with the weakest version of the GT555m.
Has anyone tried a similar setup for the latest DayZ mods for Arma II? I won't have access to that notebook until I leave so I can't test it myself (game will be on my portable HDD).
