I have just fitted a zalman cooler to my X1800XT and oh my!

So silent its unreal!! i can hear my asaka amber fan (@7v) on the side panel of my case, everything else is silent!

Not too sure if i should be hearing my side panel fan - making a wierd noise, as if it is catching on something? Dont know if anyone else has had this problem? I have had a wire caught in it a few times :P could this mean it is on its way out or is there a solution?

According to ATI catalyst the temps havnt really changed much - but i am guessing this could be due to a lack of cold air onto the GPU - i may add another mod to my case for a fan to blow onto the GFX card.

Thumbs up to the Zalman though!!!!!!

Its acctually the VF700 i have got, i realised i had put the fan on the 5v option, but ebem at 12v its amazing, and lowers the temps by about 5*c now @ 12v idle.

Only thing is though makes the case a bit toasty! My idle temps have got from 35 to 43. God knows what they would have been if i hadnt modded a blow hole in the side of my Sonata2!!

This one came prefitted with a VF700. Been very happy with it.. seems to push through quite a lot of air with barely any noise.

Have you tried putting a blowhole in the top of the case to exhaust some of the hot air?
