Just upgraded broadband, being held back by homeplugs

First off, I have to say I get really frustrated when dealing with broadband speeds/setting up wireless routers etc, so bare with me;)

Basically I have just upgraded to 60mb broadband with Virginmedia, but I have found that my speed has actually halved. I am using a really old pair of homeplugs which were getting speeds of around 1mb when downloading from Steam for example with my old plan, but now I download at around half that. If I connect straight to the superhub, I get the full speed, so it seems the homeplugs are holding me back(they are about 5 years old now, and were the cheapest I could get at the time iirc).

Can someone spec me some new ones which will get the best for me.....I don't really know what I should be looking for tbh. Homeplugs really are the only solution available to me atm and I really don't want to spend too much.

Thanks

It depends how much you wish to spend.

Devolo are usually touted as one of the best brands but there is a premium that goes with it (though I have seen an offer for one 3 device plug and one single device plug for £69.99 which is a bit of a bargain) and they were the 500mbps ones.

Personally used both Solwise and Devolo - prefer the Devolo though overall.
