Just upgraded to VM 50Meg

Well have just upgraded from the 20 meg service to 50meg and have to say the install was nice and easy and the speed seems to be consistantly fast unlike the 20meg service.
For once VM customer services were actually quite helpful so a big thumbs up from me at the moment.

I did some speed tests throughout the day and here are my results.

 
Just wondering, where abouts do you live? I am not aware that VM 50mbit is available everywhere yet.
 
I'm in the derby area.

Aparently the Derby/ Stoke area are on the same network so they should have both been activated although the engineer said I was probably one of the first in the area to get it.

I think the Nottingham area is due to be enabled shortly.

if you go to the VM website you can check to see if you have 50 Meg enabled in your area.

Yes I would have liked a bigger upload as I work from home a lot so having the extra upload would have been brilliant but at least it's better than the 768k that the 20meg service is on.

I would have at least thought 2 meg for the upload as a minimum for 50meg but hey not many home customers need the upload speed.

For the majority of users, the current upload speed is sufficient. If you want super fast upload, then obviously cable isn't for you.

Anyway, congrats on the upgrade to 50Mb davetherave2, remember the STM will start when 50Mb is fully rolled out, so make sure you do any super heavy downloading before then :p
