Came across this on YouTube and to be honest I had forgotten how great these cars were (and how great Schumi could be). It might not be the best quality, but the sound just sends chills down my spine (those were the V10s right?). I also miss that level of grip, especially impressive considering they were the grooved tyres!

Oh well, times change I guess :(

I love F1, but now it is just not as fun.
In the 1990s and 2000s, engines blew up, people properly crashed, the rules had some slack so the engineers could come up with innovative designs.
And best of all, the engines screamed like a baby in a food blender.

Now they want F1 to come up with clever ideas, with no allowance in the rules to do so. A new idea for a design comes up and it gets banned within a few days.

You speak of the engines, but you could go back decades and say the same. The V10s didn't sound the same as the Ferrari V12. Some feel the 1990's V10s and V12s didn't sound as good as the 1.5L V6 turbos of the 80s. Then you've got the amazing-sounding BRM V16 and H16 engines of the 50s and 60s. Where do you stop?

Times change.
