Now that sounds like the way forward... give the victim the opportunity to commit an act of physical abuse back. Imagine the possibilites...

Interesting idea but a bad one I'd say, violence begets violence and all that. If you allow a victim to assault the criminal then they are no better than the criminal was.

Also seems pretty harsh to get 4 years for grabbing someones bottom. If that sort of thing existed over here you'd find clubs deserted most nights because most of the clientele would be locked up.

Ignoring the options of the 'victim' but it's alarming that he got a jail term for what appears to be merely slapping her bum.. what's next? Jail terms for cheesy chat-up lines?

4 years abit harsh should be 1 year at least but i suppose it sets a standard and hopefully they will reduce.

4 years in jail, thats crazy. A Fine or some community service would be more appropriate imo.

About being given the option to slap him, thats very strange, not a good path to start down...

This may just go to serve as a warning to others that you just can't do this sort of thing. I know it seems a bit harsh but at the end of the day he just shouldn't have done it

Nope he shouldn't but it isn't all that serious an offence I wouldn't have thought. Mind you the amount of cases I could have brought against girls in nightclubs grabbing me, think of the compensation......

Realistically though it is about having a bit of perspective, it isn't the end of the world. The guy needed a slap on the wrist and possibly community service from the superficial story that is there, if there is more to it then I'll reconsider.
