but i have this and wana know if i can crossfire 2 x 4870s

i have 1 x pcie 16 and pcie 4

is this possible?

Yeah you can run two 4870's in Crossfire on that board.

seems a bit of a waste though as the x4 is bound to hinder the results.
Given that you will have £360+ in gfx cards why not sell the P35 & get an X38 as they are available from ~£120?

I think Buff could be right on this one - the drop in performance is quite substantial - about 35% against 2 x 16x slots, but only at high resolutions. If you're going much over 1680 x 1050 then I'd seriously look at changing the motherboard, or just buy a cheap second-hand 3870X2 or wait for the HD4870X2 and run it in one slot.
