Hey folks

Having a bit of trouble with the rear USB ports on this motherboard. Within XP, every time i plugged a USB device into the back, Windows said it has malfunctioned. This happens with any device and any port.

I'm now using Vista 64, and it's not even recognising the USB devices when they're plugged in.

Has anyone got any ideas? Is there a bios setting somewhere?

Go into control panel-System-devices and delete all the USB root hubs. Then restart the system with the driver CD in the optical drive. They should auto-detect and work fine after that.

I just tried that, and after the reboot it installed all them again. But after it had installed everything, it said that a USB device has malfunctioned again

No USB devices are connected though, and when i do plug in a mouse or keyboard, theres no power to them and it doesn't detect that they're there

Do you have any yellow exclamation marks against anything in control panel?

Before i deleted the USB Hub ports in the device manager, nothing was flagged up. I'll go and have another look as i'm on a different computer at the moment

edit: Just checked, and there isnt any exclamation marks there
