k55 keyboard - my '9' key doesn't work but does when i hold shift for (

Strange problem indeed. I can only get a 9 to type out by using the numlock and numpad. But the top 9 doesn't function...however, the key itself must be working because when i hold shift and press it, the open brackets appears fine. Any ideas?

hmm, unplug and replug the keyboard.
