K95 RGB Platinum - How to use profiles correctly?

So I recently just bought the Corsair RGB K95 Platinum but Im finding it a little confusing on how exactly are you supposed to customise the colours with different profiles but then for example save it as a hardware profile, or at the very least remember my last selected profile when I start Windows.

I have downloaded several profiles from the CUE software which I can select and see the new colours and effects but when starting Windows it always selects my first downloaded profile, not my last used. I dont even see a way of overwriting one of the 3 hardware profiles with one of the custom or downloaded ones?

Does anyone with any experience using the software or keyboard have any ideas? I just want to know how to save to hardware profile and also how to remember last selected profile.

EDIT: I forgot to add whenever I open the CUE software I always get this annoying error saying the profiles conflict, "The stored profile K95P HW1 on your device does not match the current profile saved to CUE." This message appears 3 times for HW1, HW2 and HW3.

Thanks

I've had the same problems with it to be honest and reading between the lines on the Corsair forums its a common problem and the solution has always been upgrade to the latest version of Cue which for me hasn't help so far.

That doesn't sound good, I am also using the latest software version and also on the latest firmware. Having now read on the corsair forums as well I agree it seems like the Cue software is not fully functioning or missing certain things, saving to a hardware profile for example doesn't seem obvious to me and then of course the corrupt profile errors.

Who is the Corsair rep on OCUK, can we get some input from them on this issue?

I've just grabbed a screen capture of the issue on mine, which I assume is the same as yours but with a different profile name.

As i've been through the following:

1. I've completely removed the software including associated files
2. Removed all profiles
3. Kept CUE software up to date. (Currently on 2.16.87)
4. Fresh install of Windows 10

Thats pretty much the error I get whenever I open the Cue program but my 3 hardware profiles are unchanged, I couldn't even figure out how to set a custom or downloaded one to a hardware profile.

Yup me here also. I have just set up my profiles and not bothered opening CUE since. Always pops up with that message on same PC when nothing has changed. Makes 0 sense.

I've pretty much just set a single profile for mine as I've given up with it, as I used to have a profile per game with my K70 (CUE 1.X) but since upgrading to K95 and CUE 2.X CUE has been rubbish.

So we can conclude the Cue software is rubbish, this is my first high tier keyboard and really liked the possibilities of macros and profiles and things depending on what game / program was used and also having hardware profiles without the use of Cue software but even doing some of the so called basic things seems much harder then it needs to be, if not impossible and thats not even mentioning the bugs and profile conflicts etc.

CUE is the devil. I hate it so much. There are great youtube tutorials you should check out but it is such a headache to do something which should be so simple and painless. Corsair REALLY messed up with CUE.
It shouldn't be more complicated to setup RGB on your keyboard than it is to launch a rocket into orbit but somehow it is.

I also have issues with CUE losing track of my K70 RGB and my VOID RGB and crashing. It sucks. I'm on the latest version.

i used to like CUE1 when i changed to cue 2 didnt like it at all but persevered with it

now i love it. trick is to make and save profiles in advanced settings then go back to basic there are huge tutorials on corsair website forums for it
admit itll take a while to get the hang of it but i love it now

CUE2 will only default back to a profile that was created in the software after a system reboot, not if the profile was saved under HW Profile. You just have to make sure that you drag profile on the very top of the profile list to ensure that it loads first when CUE2 starts up. So if you want a particular profile to load after a reboot, I'd suggest that you create a profile in the SW and not save it under HW profile.

Also, when you create or import a profile to the HW profile, make sure to save it under advance mode. To save the profile, click the "SAFE PROFILE TO DEVICE" at the very bottom right below "PERFORMANCE"

To avoid this conflict message every time you load CUE, similar to what I suggested above, you just have to save the profile to the HW profile under advance mode every time you make changes on the profile. That should do the trick.

Let me know if that fixes it.

@Greybeard

I've got a K95 RGB which has reecently started double pressing the "E" key (That's an example back there)

Apparently a known issue, i've knocked it down from 1000 to 500 aas that can apparently solve it, but hasn't , any suggestions (Also doing it with A back there)

You can try a couple things before contacting our technical support staff. Try connecting the keyboard into a different stack of USB ports, or perform a force firmware update in the global settings (gear wheel). If neither correct the issue, you can submit a support ticket on our website:
