My mate has just bought a KA  and he reckons he has to replace all the tyres as the ones on there at the moment are 155s and he says he has to have 165s, I wouldn't of thought they'd be a lot of difference, he also reckons his insurance is invalid because of it?

if he sticks alloys on and doesnt declare them but I really cant see just new tyres/steelies invalidating insurance or wheel size. I went from 165/65/14 now have 185/55/15 but they are alloys so you have to declare them but not if its just tyres/steelies I would have thought.

This guy drives me mad, he now says

Him:
my tyres are no good

Him:
i have 155/65 - the one on there [tyre website] is 155/70

Him:
so the three types for my car are 155/70, 165/65 and 165/60

Me:
65 and 70 is just the profile of the tyre, 65 is lower profile

Him:
yeah but if 65 isnt listed for my car, direct line wont pay out because theyre not standard

I'm right aren't I?

Get him slapped lol.. just tell him to buy what ever tyres to be honest.. its his money not yours :P
