Kaby Lake upgrade

The usual upgrade question; looking to change CPU/mobo/RAM plus 256GB Samsung Pro SSD.

The mobo must have 6Gbps capability.

8GB DDR4 RAM.

I like the idea of i5 7600K.

If I can get something for less than £500, brilliant but £550 maximum.

AMD Ryzen seems very competative, have you considered this ?

Not really. I currently have AMD and was looking for a change with Intel.

Is there much difference?

Ryzen 1600 is a very decent competitor to the 7600K.

Ryzen 1600 = 6 Cores 12 Threads - Overclocks to ~3.8-3.9GHz

7600K = 4 Cores 4 Threads - Overclocks to 4.5-5GHz

As such Intel has a decent single threaded performance lead, AMD has considerably higher multi-threaded performance.

Should be able to get:

Ryzen 1600
B350 motherboard (Giga Gaming 3 for example)
16GB DDR4 3200MHz
Samsung SSD

For around £550.
