Kale.... talk to me?

Cut it to bits, bit of garlic and oil, fry for a few minutes.

Do not eat too much....it creates havoc in terms of wind/gas for me, literally break wind 2 hours after eating for the next 5-6 hours.

cook for a stupidly long time imo and then when you think its enough time, double that.
start with water in the pan, when that drys out, switch to frying with flavours.

i'm much more of a spinach guy.

Raw in salads.
Steamed for 15 mins.
Slow low roasted to dry it out, like crispy seaweed.
We eat loads of the stuff second only to savoy, my dad grows way too much of it.

Going to cook some chick breast fillets with mashed potatoe, carrots and fancied doing some kale as well.

It is bitter and taste of iron. Kids hate it and lots of adults don't like it.

As a side veg: Tear/cut the leaves off the stalks and boil for 10-12. Drain and put back into hot pan, add knob of butter for flavour, mix well and serve.

In stuff: De-stalk, finely chop and add to stir-fry, curry, or pasta sauce. Needs at least 5 mins.

Snack: De-stalk, cut into crisp size, spread on baking tray, use spray oil (flora one cal or similar), add salt/pepper/chilli powder/other flavours to your taste, then bake for five mins at 180c, toss occasionally and keep an eye on them, they burn in the blink of an eye. This is your best chance to get kids to eat it.

It is cheap as chips, filling, and loaded with iron and vit K. To get at the iron kale should be eaten with a vit C source (it chelates dietary iron making it much more absorbable).

One of my favourite vegetables now but as stated above, you have to boil the crap out of it to get it near edible. Have to fry it afterwards too! I like it with a bit of garlic and occasionally some bacon if I'm cooking for someone who's not the biggest fan.

Depends..... for goodness, steam it, about 8 minutes, none of this fifteen minutes nonsense. Wimps :p

For flavour as a side, steam it for about ten minutes, then toss it in a hot pan with plenty of salted butter, some cracked black pepper and garlic if you fancy. Cook it down for just a couple of minutes. Job done.

I sling it in smoothies quite a lot too. Basically flavourless when combined with fruits or even protein powder.

If you grow you own, I imagine that is nice, but the shredded (baby food) format it is delivered in supermarkets, which :
a. does not help keep it fresh
b. cannot remove any thicker/slower cooking veins, as you might a cabbage.
plus this article three-reasons-not-to-eat-kale
had made me a bit more weary about overdosing , otherwise could eat a 500g packet between three.

forgot - just steam it w/salt, pepper, dash olive oil
