kali on a laptop

Ok still very noob and exploring different stuff. i got kali linux running from a pendrive on my laptop, i then thought i will install it direct onto the laptop and see what happen's, it ran once then crashed

so can kali run from a formatted pc laptop without crashing, mine is a rog gaming machine no longer used for gaming, i even managed to get it all running on a raspberry pi3b but not on my laptop.
any suggestions what i need to do?

I did not know you could get Kali running on a Pi3b. Very interesting, I sense a new project coming on for the Pi I "wasted" on a RetroPi project that I never actually play.
