Two branches. One tree.

Jackie Chan, Ben Wang, and Ralph Macchio star in Karate Kid: Legends - exclusively in cinemas May 30.

In Karate Kid: Legends, after a family tragedy, kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) is uprooted from his home in Beijing and forced to move to New York City with his mother. Li struggles to let go of his past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn't want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren't enough. Li's kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help, and Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.

So did Daniel ever end up marrying the japanese bird from Karate Kid II?

Nah, but he does end up with a pretty awesome wife, in fact she's one of the better adult characters in Cobra Kai imo.

I actually think this looks pretty good, the kid has moves on him, willing to give it a shot and enjoy the cheese.

I was a bit reticent because the jaden smith karate kid was....Well, it was not good. On the other hand, I always have a jolly time when Jackie Chan is in a film. I can't see myself going to theatres to watch it, but I can see myself buying it when it comes out on apple TV.

Is cobra kai worth giving a chance, or is it your usual netflix fodder?

I struggled with the Jaden Smith movie myself, I mainly gave it a shot due to my love of Jackie Chan despite my reservations about Jaden.

Cobra Kai is wonderful, it does decline a bit in the latest (and final) season, but it's still very enjoyable in my opinion. Very cheesy and over the top, but funny and true to the old movies in a lot of ways, William Zabka (Johnny, aka the main bad guy in the first movie) is more or less the main adult character in the first season and is absolutely amazing.

It started life as a Youtube Red and moved to Netflix afterwards, I'd honestly recommend it.

I'll give it a shot - I've been a bit bored with netflix offerings of late as they seem very one track and bored housewife orientated. lol

It's nothing like that, I found the first season shockingly binge-worthy if I'm honest. Put one episode on to check it out and ended up spending my entire afternoon on the rest of the show.

I shall give it a watch. It's just me, myself and I for christmas as usual, so i'll do a billy no mates binge myself. lol

The new movie?

I was pleasantly surprised by that if I'm honest, it wasn't a bad couple of hours and Ryan Gosling is brilliant as always.
Yeah, it was going for £3.99 on apple tv over the weekend about a month back so I figured i'd be an idiot not to pick it up for a rainy day. they also sold the naked gun trilogy in 4k for 9.99!

More than I will sitting around the family table with my family passively aggressively asking why I haven't "gotten back on the horse again". lol

Honestly I half wish I could chill at home Christmas day watching movies and chilling myself, it's a stressful time of year even in the best case and my experience is more of a middling one.
