Seeing as it's a lovely day I thought I'd wash the cars. Got everything out and set up only to switch on my karcher and have it leaking out the bottom. Did a bit of digging around on the web and it's a common problem. I've had it about 15 months so out of warranty now. I don't feel too bad though cos I got it new for about £60 at the time.

So, I'm now looking for a new one. At the time I bought it I was tempted to buy a nilfisk model but the karcher price swayed me in the end. So, what's a decent pressure washer to go for now (up to £100)? I've got a snow lance for the karcher but I can always get another connection for it.

This happened to me last year. Not sure if you did same as me, but I foolishly left mine in the shed and presume the washer must have frozen and cracked some internals a commonly reported online. Lesson learned for me. I liked my Karcher and replaced it with a slightly more powerful model, so can't comment on other brands.

I last used it in January right before we had that really cold spell so I think there must have been some water left inside although I did run it for a bit before I put it away. Like you said, lesson learned! Gives me a chance to get another one now though so time to do some searching.

Ours went from dripping out to spraying out, i was hoping it could be stripped down and be something simple like a nackered O-Ring?

Think its a 2.54M.

/edit - Seems mine has suffered the same as others, frozen over winter and the plastic pump case has expanded/split.

Time to try a Nilfisk i think :D

I got a Nilfisk, good customer service too as I had a O ring go on the 6meter hose to the lance and sent them a querie, a day or so later UPS was banging on my door and Nilfisk had sent me a complete new hose.

Another vote for Nilfisk, only had it a couple of weeks but I'm really impressed with the quality, I can see this one lasting a while - I've had 3 Karchers now and they have all suffered from 'the pulsing problem' after about a year.

Edit: If you want a good deal on Nilfisk pressure washers I've noticed that Screwfix seem to do quite a few good deals on them.

Many of the Karcher ones have plastic internals don't they? Milfisk is not :)

I paid £40 for the C110 and that was many years ago, It stays in the shed so has been through many winters and still works every Sunday.
