Morning folks,

My Antivirus (NOD 32) is coming up for renewal in mid September and it'll cost me just over £18 for another year.

I notice OcUK are still selling the OEM version of Kaspersky for around £8 inc VAT.

So my question is as per the thread title and would I be compromising my laptops security by switching to Kaspersky? I use a Netgear DG834G v4 wireless router which of course is my firewall too, but I also run a free software firewall as backup (PC Tools Firewall) so not sure I need the full Kaspersky package, just the AV.

Thanks in advance.

Those results only show the old version of kaspersky and prob an old version of others too so it may not be a true reflection of the current latest versions.

One result i find hard to swallow is that they say that AVG is faster at on demand scanning than kaspersky.... yeah right! ive used both and thats simply not the case.

You wont go far wrong with either nod32 or kaspersky really so just get the cheaper one.

If I were buying one I would go for NOD32 but seeing as I'm with Barclays Bank I get a free 3 license version for using internet banking.

I've used Kaspersky, AGV and NOD32 and have to say NOD32 has proved to be the best, it just sits there quietly working away with no bit drain on resources.
