Kaspersky and easynews - help

Hi
I've just ditched Norton for Kaspersky and now I can not down load (legit) files from easynews, it just times out or I get a failed connection message in free download manager.
The internet access in general is not a problem.
It worked fine in Norton, how should i have Kaspersky configured?

Check to see if kapersky is monitoring nntp, or even check in the mail monitoring options for nntp.
