Kaspersky bargains

Just a quick heads-up to anyone (like me) who needs to change or renew their antivirus or security software.

Kaspersky are having a 'christmas sale', with 50% off Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 packages. I think £27 for a 2-year, 3 PC licence for the antivirus or £41.17 for a 2-year, 3PC licence for the security suite is pretty good value...

*edit* not quite such value once you've added the VAT (and why 19%....? :confused:

I think it is 19% because the EU store for Kaspersky operates out of the Netherlands?

I gave kaspersky a try and it almost destroyed my parent's machine (xp) and caused a few issues on mine (vista). Still got 3 licences which haven't been activated

I've never had any problems with *cough* free *cough* versions and so am planning on getting it for real very soon.

One question: is it worth getting the Internet Security package or just stick with the anti-virus? Looks like the Internet Security package really just adds a firewall - is it any good?

I would personally advise you not to go to down the Internet Security package route. Some of the ones I've tried in the past , namely :Norton & Mcafee really slow your PC down . Theres so much running , checking this & that , your resources are used up .It's much better to a have a good stand alone anti-virus program [I just bought the Kaspersky 7 offer [£14 odd for 12 months ,3 licences]] and a good Firewall [I'm using Comodo ] and the usual Spy-bot & Ad-aware .You PC would be just about solid with this lot .

Same here, I used to use Kaspersky 6 on XP then I upgraded to Vista and they released Kaspersky 7.
I installed it on this machine and it hardly run at all and really struggled. Since then I have not even thought about using it again.
6 was excellent but it may have been because 7 was so new or Vista was new.
