Kaspersky Firewall error

just bought kaspersky as i had no real protection and so far its all good except one problem, the firewall cannot be enabled for some reason and i dont know why i tryed a google search for the error code (cant remember but it was along the lines on 800000537 or something along those lines) and was told to uninstall windows defender, dont really want to or know how to do this,,,, anyone else had a similar problem and been able to fix it? thanks

Try and post the exact error code. Which version of Kaspersky? KIS2009? Also, when you say you had "no real protection" were you running no antivirus and firewall at all? And for how long?

800057 is the error code, i had ad-aware free and scanned occasionaly with malwarebytes but ad-aware is gone now (as far as i can tell), its the latest version of kaspersky and its fully updated
