So my old hdd was dying so I've reinstalled to new one and formatted old one before destroying. On trying to activate kis2014 it gives me error saying code may be from foreign store. I purchased in uk and using in uk and all was ok on old hdd.
So how can I sort this out?
Thanks

Install without a licence (the one month trial), and then use the "my profile" option in the bottom left corner of the Kaspersky main screen. Make/use an account, and log a fault with support.

Is is possible you're using a proxy/VPN that's putting you in the wrong region? Maybe your IP address is incorrectly registered with the wrong geolocation at your ISP.

Not using VPN and it's same ISP (bt) as before.
I have logged a fault with support but they are closed on weekends.

You should be okay with the evaluation version until they get back to you - it's good for a month.

I've seen it happen that as ISPs bring more IP blocks online, various geolocation services get the country wrong, and people can't access things like the Iplayer. Companies get the allocation of the IPs wrong.

You can try a reverse DNS on your IP and see what it says, but that won't tell you what Kaspersky's authentication server is seeing.

called kaspersky and they said it's a south african retail code and to take it up with my supplier, who will either provide me with a uk code or a refund.
I called the vendor and they have agreed to provide me with a refund. Apparently it was a south african code which used to work in uk but kaspersky are now blocking foreign bought codes.
Thanks for your help
