I'm just wondering how many people are using Kaspersky internet security 2012 or 2013, ive been getting quite a few computer freezes on Windows 7 professional and ive got a feeling this is the culprit.

Most of the freezes seem to be just after start up when the Kaspersky is doing some kind of report as the report notification appears in the right bottom corner when its finished, ive launched a browser just after startup which is "Google Chrome" and its froze with the activity circle spinning away, then the Kaspersky completed report appears then it all goes back to normal.

It used to do it on firefox as well so i un-installed that to test it with google chrome, it still happens.

I am using Kaspersky internet security 2013 with windows 7 with no problem.

But I do wait until the program reports that it is running and has loaded all virus updates, before opening IE9.

Used to use KIS2012 with Windows 7 without a single issue and now use KIS2013 with Windows 8 without any issue at all.

Disable Kasperky from starting up in msconfig and see if it is actually Kasperky that is causing your freezes, if it is Kaspersky then reinstall it and see if this fixes your issue.

Also check Event Viewer for any application errors.

Touch wood ive not had a problem since letting Kaspersky fully load at start up, ive let the icon appear on the system tray and let the report window appear before doing anything. Doing it that way sort of takes away the advantages of having fast boot times with an ssd as you have to wait for Kaspersky to do its thing.

It seems like it was Kaspersky, on boot up ive let it fully load up so that the kaspersky icon is on the system tray along with waiting for the message window to appear that pops up to say that Kaspersky is enabled.

Ive not had any freezes or lags since.

In all honesty, Kaspersky has always done this. It's just takes a lot longer now than it used to. There are 2 reasons for it, the first is that it does a Root kit scan as soon as Windows has loaded and the second is that it scans the OS for changes since the last boot. You are right though, launch any browser and things become painfully slow until it has finished it's scans. That said, at least it is doing what you are paying for it to do.

Ditch it and use Microsoft's solution.

My Kaspersky was about to run out so i'm giving the microsoft one a go, it certainly doesn't lag at start up and its instantly installed on the tool bar unlike Kaspersky which can go on for a good 1-2 mins while it does its thing.

My Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 with Windows7 runs actively. There is no problem.Whether you set up "Google Chrome" into the black-list?

I've been using kapersky for a few years i'm currently using 2013 and it runs like a trooper on my machine.

If you have online banking with barclays or know anyone that does, then they offer a license code for the full kapersky anti virus/ internet secruity
