Kaspersky IS 2009 questions

Hi guys
Was just wondering if there's a way to speed this security suite up a bit.
At start up, my computer is pretty slow to respond to anything until the Kaspersky icon appears in the system tray (always last to appear too!) Is this something to put up with? Is it doing some sort of quick scan which is slowing things down?

You can upgrade for free to 2010.
But it'll mean fully uninstalling 2009, as else Kaspersky will trash your machine.

2010 may be a little bit faster, but it still renoun for making boot time significantly longer, and taking considerable time to complete its rootkit on boot scan when it starts. There is no way you can speed your machine up and keep it installed.

Sounds like you need to reconfigure your Kaspersky, to see what happens upon startup. Maybe check out what else you have going on at startup as well.
