Ive got Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 installed (version 12.0.0.374).

For the past 2 days everytime it updates, it comes up saying the databases are out of date.

Goto to the KIS main screen for the update it says Databases and the application are out of date.

everytime i click the update button i get the same error.

downloaded the kis 12.0.0.374 install file from the website and reinstalled it - rebooted got the databases are obsolete message, ran the update once it ran same error as before.

Does anyone know what could be causing this.

Hi

adding this as it might help others

I use IE 8 & Firefox - firefox for 99% of the time

My KIS stopped updating last few days - it went thru all the proxy servers and got nowhere

reinstalled from scratch and still no luck

then noticed IE wasnt working (firefox was ok) - connections, lan settings it had

127.0.0.1 port 19876 set

nothing like learning about lopopback thru personal experience . . .

unticked it and everything works ok

KIS updates ok now

only thing i've installed recently is Visual Studio express but it did update lots of things

u can search for manual kaspersky database updates, ive found rebooting my router fixes it sometimes...

sometimes its just kasperskys end...

true... also try google dns servers, helps improve web surfing and is faster

sometimes the dns servers from isps get groggy and block stuff, use to happen to messenger service for me all the time ;)

I used to use that OpenDNS for a while , seemed to have left that behind for some reason on my current Laptop

I wonder if a "cheap" ISP could use OpenDNS and save themselves some trouble or would OpenDNS notice and send them an invoice . . .
