My Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 expires in 12 days time.

I've purchased Internet Security 2011 in boxed form. I have NOT used it to update/upgrade

Would I be able to download the latest 2012 KAS IS on 30 day trial, then wait until the trial expires and update with the serial number supplied with my 2011 version, ie, update 2012 with 2011 serial number?

Thanx

Once before (on another computer) I took KAS off my computer but remanants still remained. I went to REGEDIT, typed in Kaspersky and deleted everything found in the registry. I was then able to install the upgrade. That worked, but I'm not sure I'd want to do it again

Yes i can confirm that works,I get 1 year Kaspersky IS for free every year through my bank,And all you have to do is go on Kaspersky website...select "Download" at the top of the page, then "Product updates" then KIS and 2012 version should be there for you to download....once installed use your 2011 key. :)

Excellent News. Thanx a lot

Does Avast have a firewall? The last time I used a freebee AV I had to use a separate firewall and if I'm NOT mistaken some free AVs do not allow false positives?

I used the freebee with NTL (i've got cable broadband) and last year they upgraded (their words NOT mine) to Virgin Media Something or Other. I loaded it onto my laptop and it removed some items which were certainly NOT threats and there was no way of getting them back, so I purchased KAS which has a restore feature.

Thanx for your replies.
