Since these two products tend to divide us into two camps, and nod32 is always said to have a smaller memory footprint than kaspersky, so what is yours?

Me:

Kaspersky

kav.exe 1,620K
kavsvc.exe 18,528K

So how much more lightweight is nod32?

Howcome its so low on your pc

Its really not an accurate measurement of memory used to be honest. Windows will always to try to use as much as possible. Free ram is wasted ram. It obviously varies on what else is happening on the computer at the same time.

Kaspersky 6.0.0.300
3 avp.exe processes, totalling ~8500kb.

Edit: just noticed a scan was running as well.
Also have all protection options switched on (File, email, web, etc).

A shade under 20meg for NOD32.

That AOL version of Kaspersky is supposed to be pretty good.

Yes, it seems very good. I used AVG before i saw this on digg, it picked up 2 virus's (left over bits) from a virus i had a while ago. That AVG didn't notice.

Apparently it's just slightly cut-down from the full Kaspersky, but is still just as good at detecting.

Free for 1 year :D
However the License agreement leaves room for AOL to add adverts... have a read here: http://www.castlecops.com/article6636.html

But i will just uninstall if they add any stuff like that :o

Everything enabled and on full

^ Kaspersky 6

Kaspersky 6 -
avp.exe - 2,272k
avp.exe - 2,548k
= 4820

saying that it vairies from each time i look at it, sometimes its as low as that then 10 minutes later it can total up to about 10meg.
But with 2gig the usuage isnt much of an issue. :)
