Got up this morning to find my PC had restarted itself etc after a Microsoft update. Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit version with IE11.
Then realised Internet Explorer wasn't happy - would just open the window and then shut down again straight away
Played about googling through Chrome for a while and trying to reset Internet Explorer to defaults but this wouldn't work properly either, and IE still wouldn't work. Ran several suggested Adware and malware programs with nothing detected.
Eventually found this

Found kb2957689 in the update history, uninstalled and restarted PC and we're back in business with IE apart from having to go in and change search providers and get the screen back how I had it before
