Can anyone let me know where I might be able to get the fix for the above knowledge base issue? I'm running OEM Windows XP Pro so I am not elligable for updates and it tells me to contact my computer manufacturer (i.e. me).

So I basically need a download link for kb896269, can anyone help?

Not being able to rotate images in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is quite annoying.

Why aren't you eligable for updates?

I have OEM XP Pro and it works fine for me.

Microsoft site says the hotfix is only available by contacting them directly.

I can get automatic updates and windows updates just fine, but the fix isnt on there, when I go through the contact microsoft procedure, it wants payment for support!

The solution is to get the hotfix (which I cant source), so it doesn't really help, but thanks anyway.

^ yeh np's dude, it does say for people to contact MS over this matter, although I dont know why they want you to do this instead of just posting the fix :confused:

Reading the link posted, it looks like you might have to wait for the next service pack release.

Edit: It fixed it on one computer but not the other one, when I rotate in image on the other PC no error dialogues showed up, it just doesnt do anything :confused:

Can you do this for all the hotfixes that you need to phone up for?

There's one I could do with for Vista...

Turns out someone had seen the aspect ratio warning box about rotating pictures, ticked don't show this again, and hit no. So windows refused point blank to rotate, no errors, no nothing. So to fix, I opened a picture, then closed it by the X while holding ctrl, this reset the warning box to show again.
