So anyone else see the video of the kid who was being bullied and the fall out from it?

Lots of celebrity out pouring and Chris Evans inviting him to the premier of Avengers....well now it seems to have gone 180 and his father is a white supremacist who is in prison...

I've not seen one of these stories do a complete reversal so quickly.

Does say something though about today's norms that something like this is jumped on so quickly without knowing anything about the actual story or people.

Turns out an MMA fighter got in touch with her as he wanted to do something for him and was literally told she just wants money....really have to question the motives from the mother here.

Was social media a mistake?

Feel bad for the kid. He has horrible racist parents who are probably drilling hatred of blacks into him from a very young age. What chance has he got?

The guardian have a piece on this today, which basically concludes that it’s all ******** and a lot of the stuff being circulated isn’t true in the slightest.

Hey, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. I don’t know what she thought she was doing putting the original video up.

The Guardian article makes a lot of good points.

It's not the first time that mainstream media jump on stories without checking them out. The problem these days is opinion pieces now pass as journalism. In an effort to keep 'hip with the kids' news outlets are literally copy/pasting stories from the Internet, and taking some post on a blog as gospel.

Nobody deserves to be bullied.

are you not perhaps falling into a social media trap yourself, how do you know he definitely contacted the mother as apparently there have been fake profiles set up, go fund me campaigns etc..

maybe he did, maybe he didn't but the whole thing seems to be a bit of a farce

Fake news.

that about sums it up

I thought it was a load of rubbish as soon as I watched it.

Like that lad who got stuck in a hot air balloon and floated away or what ever it was.

Funny though how people get so persuaded by social media etc.
