Kebabs - North/South Difference?

Load of rubbish, it totally depends on the kebab shop. Most are awfull. Find that gem and kebabs become a culinary delight. although south = pita bread, north = nan.

The 2 best places iv ever had a kebab from are Berlin (old east so it was about a quid) and Stoke (biggist supprise ever considering stoke).

There's a place in Belfast that does ok ones, but generally i havnt found any that iv been too impressed.... (even back in MK there was only one average kebab place, the best bit was the monsterly hot sauce)

The best kebab I have ever eaten was from a small cafe/bar in Nicosia looking across the Green Line towards the Turkish side.

I'm from the south and live up north - doner kebab tastes the same wherever you go to me.

People up north do tend to make these claims - since I moved from Harlow, I've been taken to chip shops about a dozen times around the northeast coastline after being promised the "best fish and chips in the world" - not once have they been any better than those on offer at home.

I can handle people claiming no difference between kebabs. There is no doubt in the slightest that the best fish and chips comes from the North. Specifically the North East coast.

meh, it depends on the place, up here their are some kebab shops that are cheap and no regard to H&S and some that serve very good quality meats.

Fish and Chips are win up north, I went to Whitby and had fish and chips, amazing but it helps when the chip shop is 20 yards from the harbour.

Do chippies do gravy, curry, pea wet down south?

There's no decent kebab shops in Horsham

Luckily Crawley is only 8 miles away and is home to Kismet! Tiny place, but it's like the michelin star restaurant of the kebab world

Donner Kebab Meat and chips with Mayonaise and Chilli sauce. The serial ****-head meal of choice. Surprised none of you have mentioned Donner Meat and chips, havn't had a donner kebab for a long time, Must be a Midlands thing. The filthier and dirtier the meat the better!!
You southerners are just a bunch of Shandy-boys, thats why your kebabs are crap.haha.

I can't actually eat donar kebabs or anything of the sort anymore. It makes me feel sick for days.
