Hello, my good people, first of all, I hope I find you and yours in good health in these times of pure craziness ... it can really get on our nerves and throw us to the ground when we want to buy new computer parts and there's no stock available
( nahhh I was not going to talk about the Corona ...
)
So here's a quick brief of the situation I'm in.
I first bought a pair of 2x8 Team Group Xtreem 4500 at the end of 2019 and 2 months later I got a second pair (there was no stock so I couldn't get similar batches).

One of the issues I got is that memory has differences between them. The SPD revision is newer and the readings on the default timings also changed ... the branding also changed, that alone is not an issue but just an indicator that there were revisions.
But ok ... something I notice is the behavior of the ram, making it stable I think required a lot more back and forward than expected, trying to find the weak link of the bunch.
right now these are my lowest settings ( I may get some of the like RCDRD lower, but haven't tried yet. )
This is running an MSI Unify x570 and a 5950x. These timings took me a week to get there... i still have a feeling that I'm pushing the envelope. This could be achieved at 1.5v bios. Although MemtestPro went without errors, I get that feeling I have strings attached to this oc.
Ok, now that you have an idea of the status quo, the problem/questions arise. I have to buy some parts to upgrade my kid's computer, and because of that, I'm trying to figure my mind on what to do with my right so I can reuse parts.
Since I moved to the 5950x, I have my 3900x on the shelf, and I'm thinking about what to do with it... most likely, it will go to my kids' rig and here some decisions pop up...
a) Keep my actual ram and get some "cheaper" stuff for my kid.
b) Get some 2 x 16 b-die DR memory, like for example, the TeamGroup Xtreem ARGB 3600CL14 or some 4000CL16, sell one of the kits, and get the kid computer running with 2x8.
c) if going 2x16, what kind of ram is going to be as fun to tweak as this 4500CL18? I know everyone brags about the Ballistix Max but at those prices, thank you but ... not thank you ...
Will the 2x16 be easier on the IMC or it will be similar? ( I guess there will be minor changes since we're not using the 4 DIMM slots ).
Thank you so much for you attention and help
