hi, does any one know whats going on?
When i tell crysis to auto config the spec it put all to high or gamer mode.
I have a 4850 512 xXx graphics card, 6Gb of ram, amd quad 2.6.
Im running at 1080 res, wide screen.
Basicly on crysis i can get all the way up to where u have jusr disabled the com jammer at the start and it always crashes and it always goes to light and medium grey lines running verticaly.
On war head it runs fine untill i get to the crater at the start and then it does a bit of audo looping and crashes to black.
Both times i have to manual reset.
Am i running it to high?
Is my system not good enough  ?
Thanks for any help.

(is it possible that i might need a 2nd card to cross fire? i would only do this if its 100% that this is the problem as all my other games run fine on full specs at 1080)

high coz thats wat crysis puts it at wen u tell it to calibrate to optimum.

And im playing at 1080 res and its fine :-S

Only bought my card like a month ago, if that, but guys on here suggested it, but they said i might need to get a 2nd one but its cheaper than buying a 4850 x2 and functions the same, but its running everything i play ok on very high, just hit this problem with crysis, but it runs great n looks awsom, upuntill the points i said :-s

you must be very tolerant with framerates :p

not sure why it would be crashing, although the vertical lines don't sound good. memory overheating perhaps?

iv askedd this b4 but is it worth keepin my 4850 and getting a 2nd, or ssellin it n getting lik£80 backfor it and buying sumet better, bare in mind my budget was £160 for a card, thus this was suggested coz it is was insufisiant i cud get a 2nd, but if it was ok id save a bit.

If your budget was £160 i would have gotten a GTX 260 as they are great cards for the price.

It might be worth selling the 4850 for as much as you can get and then get a GTX 260 i.e. this one

Well tbh your system doesnt sound up to scratch.

My speccs in my sig, i play @ 1680x1050 too and still have problems.
To play crysis perfectly you cant really have a budget.

is the 4890 worth the extra £30? Since it has 1gb of ram insted of 896MB? ...wait, isnt that the same?
but it comes with 2 games, which is a plus, but is it better in anyway?
Thanks

also iv never heard of gainward, but i hav a xfx and i heard of em befor i got this current card, they both reliable?

had the same problem and it turned out to be my sound drivers, got an earlier version of the drivers and never crashed at all.
